After a short break I am here again with this cool story about Stan Smith's sneakers, which are this year very hot in! YES! Along with Adidas Sambas and Gazelles, Stan Smiths are the ultimate fashion trainer. Who is actually Stan Smith? Stanley Roger "Stan" Smith was born on December 14, 1946 in Pasadena, California. He is a former World No. 1 American tennis player and two-time Grand Slam singles champion who also, with his partner Bob Lutz, formedness one of the most successful doubles teams of all time. More like this, the world of fashion knows Stan Smith probably for his line of Adidas tennis shoes. Although the Adidas Stan Smith shoe is not recommended for modern tennis players, the shoes continue to be an iconic and stylish brand for retro tennis shoe fans. But retro and 70-ies are right now hot back (just check out par ex. the new Gucci AW 2014-15 collection!) and also 90-ies with minimalistic lines. And these sneakers are very minimalistic indeed.
The level soles, completely white with a hint of green (or red, black, blue, gold ...). This gives a tennis shoe a touch of simplicity and purity, which is a core component of each of the purified style this year! This is also a reason, that this trainer is a purist style of choice. Marc Jacobs and Phoebe Philo aren't fans for nothing, you know but add to this the fact that Gisele was photographed wearing just a pair of Stan Smiths in November’s Paris Vogue and you have the ultimate ringing endorsement. Probably why they are the best-selling tennis shoe of all time, in fact.
And me? As you know I'm going next week to Sweden. More specifically to Stockholm. I can not wait, guys to be at least one week the part of this Scandinavian fashion capitals. My plan is to buy Stan Smith sneakers right there! So, guys open your eyes, follow me on Instagram. See you soon today or tomorow with my new ootd post - but not yet in Sweden. See yaaa...
